You train endlessly for 11 or 12 games a year and you don't try? I can't imagine an 18-21 year old kid who wouldn't play his heart out if given the chance on a college team. Overall skill and talent may be the problem and while coaching is partly to blame some of it may just be bad luck with players who didn't pan out.
