Davis Suspends Backup Safety Cooter Arnold

Stay connected for news and updates

Cooter Arnold, who last season moved from running back to safety in response to Trimane Goddard's injury, has been suspended by Butch Davis for unspecified reasons. The suspension is said to be indefinite and marks the second such open ended suspension of the Davis era. Barrington Edwards was handled the same way and has since been dismissed from the team.

Since there does not appear to be any legal issues it is one of three things: academics, violation of team rules or an attitude problem. ACC Now is reporting Butch Davis will address the media this evening presumably about this issue in particular.
