As much derision as fans and talking heads alike pour on the poll system in college football there comes a moment when the voters actually unite and form a collective opinion that is so totally correct it almost restores your confidence in the weekly casting of ballots. That moment was this week when the USA Today Coaches Poll and the AP Poll both dropped Michigan out of their respective rankings from #5. What's more in the AP, Michigan only received 39 votes tying them with SCAR and placing them behind BC, Missouri, Miami, Oregon, Alabama and Oregon State. Not to take anything away from Appalachian State but this is an appropriate punishment to lay on the Wolverines for losing a game they no business losing in a 100 years. And I think it should take at least a couple of really good wins before either set of voters allows Michigan out of the penalty box.
