From ACC Now concerning US Olympic Basketball:
That’s a calculated risk in a version of the game that allows hand-checking, which somewhat neutralizes the athletic advantage of the U.S., and has tilted toward determining the best 3-point shooting team.
So international basketball allows hand checking and three point shooting is the most important part of the offense.
No wonder they selected Mike Krzyzewski to be the coach.
Also, how in the world did Greg Paulus not end up on this team if they allow hand checking? Then again, I am not sure what the rules on flopping are nor do you want a guy who has had this done to him on your team.
Yeah, I do not need much of an excuse to break that image out.

No excuse needed for that image. It’s on the short list of the greatest things ever caught on camera. I broke it out in a Facebook album today as a matter of fact, then sent it to a Dook fan.
Yes, I admit, I have a friend who is a Dook fan.
Nobody’s perfect.
I think we all have a Duke fan in our closets. Just like a pair of parachute pants, we all have/had them, just do not tell everyone. For Better or Worse….It is part of being a Tar Heel.
Hey Matt P, here I hope this helps. In my younger, rebellious years, I even went to Duke BB camp with Coach K circa 1982 or 83. Finally time and wisdom prevailed and I ended up going to UNC. So having a Dook fan may not seem so bad.
Yeah, I think we can all agree that we have had subpar moments in our life. What matters is that we dust ourselves off, turn over a new leaf, and get things straight as soon as we can. CLTHeels seems to have done just that. Good job
Ok. I have one too…. Oh the shame. But, I also have a friend that works for the IRS. It’s fun to beat either one of them.
BTW, “The Danny Dunk” is my screen saver here at work.
I never tire of that snapshot!
Nothing wrong with having a friend who is a Duke fan; I have a friend who is a Duke grad — we were golf partners from around 1984 until 2001 when I moved from the D.C. area to SENC.
The other two members of the “regular foursome” were a Wake grad & a State grad. The story breaks down a little here since it was Penn State . . .
