Steve Hale always looked like he had arrived at the Dean Dome after riding in a Jaguar at like 150 MPH, top down. That hair was so freaking electric, it used to flop up and down like no other feathered 80s mop could. Guys like Jay Bilas and Steve Alford wish their hair could have been half that cool.

Steve Bucknall is on my list as one of the more "under rated" tarheels. He became valuable after this season, and a reliable 3 point shooter before departing. This was dissapointing in terms of what we should have accomplished for the season's end. I think that nothing can compare to 1984-85 though.

"The Pervis Ellison era has begun!"

-Brent Musberger in the waning seconds of the title game.

How did that work out Brent?

There seemed to be a lot of our teams that demolished their foes early in the season only to sputter at the end. However, as I've posted, we tend to remember the bitter end (which is of course every year that we don't win it all).

I appreciate the breakdown of each year, because it highlights the greatness of some of these teams as well as a reminder of what happened injury/chemistry wise.

The Louisville team that year was on a role and of course, "NEVER NERVOUS PERVIS" was never heard from again..........

This is a hard season to forget, after such a fantastic start. The loss to Maryland is one of the hardest of all to stomach. The ole lefthander was really full of himself afterwards. I had almost forgot how much I disliked him and his UCLA of the east. I won't soon forget the affair over recruiting Tom McMillian either.

THF, this team is a little higher than I would have expected. I've been expecting to see it for a few days now. But listen to me complaining about a team that only lost 6 games. We are so spoiled by the Heels.
