UNC was 7-0 and number 3 or 4 my freshman year and then tanked badly. I loved going to those games on perfect Saturdays with blue skies, but I really don't expect or care that much how the Heels do and I really haven't seen Amos Famous Lawrence laced up his shoes.

UNC is a basketball school and hopefully it always will be. You can't be both on a sustained basis--look at USC and UCLA--pick one and be happy if you are on top. Having said that, it will be nice if they can actually finish above .500 for a change.

excellent way of looking at the upcoming season. the degrees of knowns. i am slightly more optimistic about the LBs as i think the baptism by fire the LBs took last year will prove to have been a great learning experience for them. plus i thought we were getting a number of very athletic freshmen in the position as well as one or two position changes into the unit. so a lot of inexperience but the raw talent hopefully, as THF says, will be enough to survive with the help of the DLs and the DBs.

i share the same sentiments as Wilf on a "7-5 but will gladly take better" result. i differ from THF's predictions with my 5 losses coming from VaTech, BC, Rutgers, UConn and ND. i think UVA is going to be real bad and we should be able to finally win in charlottesville.

and by the time coach davis' first recruiting class gets to be seniors two seasons from this year, i optimistically believe we will legitimately contend for top 10 nationally.

Nice job on pre-capping the season. I think 7-5 is where we will be, but I'd love to be wrong, and would welcome anything better. I still think we are two or three years away from breaking into the top 20 nationally, but success this year could speed that up a bit.

BTW, we're going to the McNeese State game this weekend, and managed to get some 50 yard line seats. Hopefully I'll have trouble seeing the game because everyone is standing up and cheering on our guys as they win their first one.
