The ACC Handbook mentioned that it might hard for Weasie to keep Smith off the court and that Dook would be a better team with Paulus coming off of the bench. I hate to say it but that's what I would do. Paulus is a defensive liability and while he can be a light's out shooter he makes Dook essentially play 4.5 on 5 against a quick team.

Remember, K started Wojo forever... There's almost no way Paulus doesn't start. Now, who finishes a game, that's another matter.

Nothing official but I am drawing conclusions based on two things:

1. If Greg Paulus was the bona fide starter at PG then K would have made him a solo captain. He didn't. Instead he named him a tri-captain with Scheyer and Henderson. This is a 180 from last season when Demarcus Nelson was a solo captain. The only good reason you have for not making Paulus a solo captain is he is not going to be a starter.

2. Rumor has it Nolan Smith was killer over the summer playing in the league run by Jerry Stackhouse. Granted it is not college basketball but he looks every bit like he is ahead of Paulus at this point for the starting slot.

I could be wrong, just reading the tea leaves here.

I hadn't heard that Nolan might start ahead of Paulus. Hard to believe someone with as much press as Paulus could get beat out in his senior year.

As for Ty, if he can stay healty I don't think his outside shooting will have to improve for him to be one of the top guards in college. His quickness is much like Tony Parker/Chris Paul, in that you cannot keep him out of the lane even if you play off. The problem is he wants to take it all the way in every time, which doesn't work. The NBA people were right that he needs to develop a teardrop akin to Parker/Paul. If he can do that, we will be unstoppable even in the 1/2 court.

I think, for right now, Parrish's Top 5 are spot on, but by the end of the season, don't be surprised if the Top-5 looks more like this:

1. Holliday
2. Lawson
3. Mills
4. Evans
5. Curry
