The call made by the refs on the field is assumed correct until there is evidence no one can dispute overturns it. If you back that standard down then you run the risk of more plays being reviewed picking apart minor rules interpretation. In terms of the Foster play I still have yet to see "indisputable evidence" that overturns the call on the field. Clear and convincing means that the instant reply probably means the officials on the field were wrong, but we are willing to allow a greater degree of oversight due to the speed on the field which leads to mistakes.
