Not to throw water on the fire, but the biggest area that Clausen has improved just this season is his reads. He hasn’t thrown any picks in the past couple of weeks, and that’s because he’s beginning to get more comfortable in looking off defenders.

Also, a couple of his picks are those where they bounce off a receiver and into the arms of a DB, kind of the “look what I found” type. Not to say that’s an excuse, but I don’t necessarily blame Clausen for those.

The big thing for Clausen will be whether or not the receivers can get behind UNC’s secondary. I think ND’s receivers are horribly underrated. Keep an eye on Michael Floyd and Golden Tate during the game on Saturday. These guys are awesome. Hopefully, Kumara will step up at some point and get out of his sophomore slump.

Should be an entertaining game, though.

Yeah, that 11-1 talk gets me excited and concerned at the same time. I know where your coming from with that but ultimately its not what the media or fans think about the game, its how the players perceive their next opponent and how they prepare themselves each week. Butch Davis is a great coach and I don’t think he will let the team look past anyone. Plus, the players are excited about winning and have recognized what it takes week in and week out to get the job done. Like Coach said, “If you want more, you have to do more.” Players are buying into Butch and the coaching staff and its showing. Clausen will get his yards thats inevitable but he will also throw some INT’s and you’re right about Weis. It will be a great game make no mistake. I hate to get my hopes up about the season based of what has happened in the past but I am confident things are coming up.

Thanks for the correction, Doc, I did obviously mean Clausen. I would like more than anybody for us to crush Notre Dame, I just have that feeling that when people start talking 11-1, that’s about the time that things fall apart. Notre Dame ain’t great, but they’ve won 4 games and Charlie Weis isn’t stupid. I hope the bad feeling that I have about this game is incorrect.
