One of the inept refs on his crew had ruled Miami QB Robert Marve down at the 1 on a keeper into the endzone, and replays showed definitively that the ball had broken the goal line before Marve's knees touched any part of the turf. After being shown during review that the ruling on the field was indefensible, Ron came out and went: "after review... *PAUSE* *PAUSE* [insert most pricelessly clueless look ever on Ron's face... the man was at an absolute loss for words] *MORE PAUSE* the ruling on the field ... *PAUSE* *PAUSE* [raises arms] ... touchdown." That sequence told you all you needed to know about Mr. Cherry's fitness as a BCS conference referee. We would certainly win that debate if it were b-ball. Nonetheless, expect a full BKS by the end of the 1st quarter. A win Saturday would be very big and could be a program changer in terms of recruiting, status etc...... Ron Cherry's presence would fire up the crowd in my opinion.
