GIT ran off Bobby Cremons after begging him to stay only years earlier. Denver fires a two-time Super Bowl winning coach. Dallas fires Tom Landry. There is very little loyalty in sports on either side, so it is hard to blame the Sabins and Marinos of the world.

according to Sidney in the N & O, Degand was supposed to penetrate and kick-out. If that's true, it's not exactly fair to lay it all on the Coach. Sendek may, or may not be a better Coach than Lowe, but one thing's for sure, his style was more boring than watching paint dry. IMO, the right coach for the Pack would be Nate IF they could ever lure him from the NBA.

Excellent analysis, as always, THF.

I, too, am wondering how long Paul Hewitt's "Get Out of Jail Free" card will last. His extraordinary NBA attrition may be slowing his ouster, but it is still up to Hewitt to do whatever is needed to consistently win more ball games.

I watched most of the State/Florida game yesterday and I have an honest question for State Fan: Are you, in your heart of hearts, happier with your program now than you were 3 years ago? I know there are some injury issues, but for the second straight year there is not an ACC-quality PG playing for the Pack. And I know State Fan hated Sendek's offense, but could they really be happy with the "run it down to 5 seconds on the shot clock and jack something up" offense that the Easy Button was running yesterday. The State internets were not to kind to Lowe yesterday, but that's understandable given the nature of the loss.

I sincerely want to know what State Fan thinks about where they stand. I may float that one over at 850 the Buzz and see who salutes.

Poor Paulus...

Anyone catch J.J. Redick on ESPN last week? He was talking about the potential of Hansbrough becoming the all-time leading scorer in ACC history. No red meet there; rather, Redick had some pleasant things to say about both Hansbrougn and UNC. Still, it's got to be tough for the Red-eyed one to realize that the Dook luster just doesn't shine so bright in the NBA, where UNC have dominated the ranks for more than a quarter century.
