THF and other fellow Carolina fans,
I just got through reading some sad news on the Tar Heel Times Website. Apparently Ademola Okulaja has cancer. This is the first time I read this, but the story says he was diagnosed with it in August. It also links to a site where you can purchase an Okulaja T shirt and all proceeds go to Okulaja's battle with cancer.

THF,
Is there any reason why my comment about 1993 is awaiting moderation?

THF: This is apparently your first comment since I moved the blog to this web host. All first comments require moderation and I just now have seen it.

William and THF,
Both of you are right. William the Heels indeed play bad for 21/2 games, right after the biggest comeback in Carolina history at home against FSU, with the George Lynch dunk. After that game came the inexplicable 33 point loss to WF in Winston and a loss to Duke in Durham, before the Tar Heels rebounded and routed the Wolfpack. The Heels didn't lose another game until the ACC Championship game against Ga Tech sans Derrick Phelps, who was cheapshotted in the UVA game the day before.
Here's hoping for a long winning streak for the Heels!!!

it's easier to play matador defense when rice is involved. those wake guards are fleet-footed, too. hopefully we play smart defense and we take advantage of their turnovers (bound to be plenty). we need deon and ed to play on sunday like they did tonight: tough inside with a desire to swat away everything.

i agree on the momentum. not the hangover. especially with our starters getting limited PT tonight.

The traditional hangover games are after:

1. A huge upset

2. A huge comeback to win a game.

I hope this one will give UNC momentum going forward.

I hope this win doesn't give us a hangover against Wake.

Notice we made 19-22 free throws and Thompson made 5-6 when they meant essentially nothing. I guess we take it as a small positive going forward and hope it doesn't mean we were gagging at the line the other night.

The 1993 Heels had three horrible or at least 2 1/2 horrible games in a row.

Can't thank you enough for the link to justintv I fight to see EVERY game and that gets to be a struggle whenever they are broadcasts by FSN. One would think that here in Florida we would the FSN South. Well all's good tonight. Thanks for coming back strong, Heels!

The Tar Heels seem to think they are playing great. I think it was a pretty mediocre half. For a while there, it looked like CoC was going to drop 50 on us in the first half.
