I saw that happen live and I just kind of laughed. Of course, I laughed after making sure he moderately ok. I've done that to a few people myself...just not that hard.

It seemed like JR had some size on him, although not that much height. What was he, 6'8 6'9? But that size in weight is what gave that screener the ability to level Nolan, and Reid had that same kind of bulk as well. Would Tyler have gotten away with that kind of screen? Really, I think it is a good question. I mean, he didn't get away with that clean steal he had at the top of the key a few games ago. He didn't get away with that little hook he gave the defender in the Miami game which we have grown so accustomed to seeing OTHER teams do on a regular basis.

My terrible memory has caused me to forget who JR Reid leveled one time. Was it Chris Corchiani? I just remember that whoever hit JR's screen went flying into the scorer's table. It was great.

Actually, now that I think about it, JR probably leveled a few folks.

After watching it again, I will stand by my premise because the screener has some size on him, and certainly compared to Nolan who is puny in comparison. But, the screener didn't looks as if he was going to get out of the way for a full force Nolan, but should he have, as that is the purpose of a screen?

I don't see it as much as a hard screen as much as Nolan drove full force into the screen. I didn't appear to me the defender put a shoulder or forearm into Smith. It seemed as he was standing still and Nolan just ran full speed into it. Someone should have called out that screen if they had an opportunity, which they may not have had.

Smith was not down in an area where he might have been hurt by the ongoing play. The refs generally let the play reach some kind of stopping point before whistling it dead. The only question is whether Smith's condition warranted immediate attention instead of waiting 10 seconds. I think you could argue it does.

You know I really dislike Dook but I really hate it when someone gets hurt like that. Someone should've called a time out on that one. That was terrible!!!!
