Green, Lawson and Ellington Are Still Growing

I credit Jonas Sahratian who turned Tyler Hansbrough into a beast and apparently found a way to make Ty Lawson, Danny Green and Wayne Ellington taller from last year’s draft camp to the one this season. Draft Express did a little comparison of draft camp measurements for the three Tar Heels since they were present [...]

Heels Throttle Coastal

UNC smacked Coastal Carolina 14-5 Saturday night to put them in prime position to advance to the Super Regionals.  Alex White got shaken up and only pitched 4.2 innings before the bullpen shut Coastal down the rest of the way.

UNC now awaits the winner of the Kansas-Coastal Carolina game who would need to beat [...]

Heels Down Dartmouth

UNC opened the NCAA baseball regional with a 5-2 win over Ivy League champion Dartmouth. Dustin Ackley(who else) was 3-5 with two RBIs. Matt Harvey started for UNC and got the win after 6.1 IP and only two earned runs. Starting Harvey was a gamble for Mike Fox considering the he is clearly the worst [...]

Ty Lawson Is Surprised At How Much NBA Teams Know About His Family

Apparently NBA Draft interviews have a decidedly Law & Order feel to them now:

Ty Lawson, the point guard out of North Carolina who is seen as a middle to late first-round pick, went into his interviews expecting to be asked hard questions and wasn’t disappointed.

“They were grillin’ me man,” said Lawson, who added [...]

Surprise! Memphis Accused Of Major Violations

Well not really but if Kentucky fans are looking for a preview of possible things to come here it is.

Clemson Losing Oglesby To Europe

Wait…what?

A formal announcement is expected Wednesday.

The source told CBSSports.com that Oglesby is headed to either Italy or Spain, and that he’s going to make “NBA money.” The 6-foot-2 guard averaged 13.2 points for the Tigers last season. He is scheduled to leave Sunday for Europe.

Well, that sort of screws Clemson in [...]

Complete Opposite

If UNC basketball is the top program in the country right now then USC might very well be the anti-Carolina.  According to Gary Parrish, during the past six weeks USC has had the following happen:

Lost top three scorers Lost top three recruits including the #7 overall prospect Renardo Sidney who went decided to attend [...]

Wisconsin Recruit Decommits Because of Message Boards

Interesting read from Gary Parrish last week.  It seems Wisconsin commit Vander Blue decided to re-open his recruitment after fans on the Badgers’ message boards bashed Blue for everything from his attitude to his academics:

Vander Blue decommitted from Wisconsin earlier this week.

It was not national news.

He is not John Wall.

But what [...]
