Claire, please, please educate your sister on quality music! Miley Cyrus and her Disney friends (Jo Bros, I'm talking about you!) are horrible. Blech.

This is off topic, I know, but I never realized how much time basketball took up in my life. Most of that time is now taken up by spending as much time as possible with my friends and family before I leave for college. But boy is my family boring. All my sister can talk about is how Miley Cyrus got her nose pierced. And they call me boring!

UTAH JAZZ COACH ON HANSBROUGH:

"Guys that are willing to work always get better. That's a huge thing in this business," Sloan said. "That's what you look for because it gives your team a chance to be competitive. Guys that really want to play and want to make themselves better can do that through hard work."

Isn't that the truth!

William, I understand your point, but Marcus is a better player than Bobby. Marcus was a fantastic defensive player before he was injured and I think everyone is just assuming he's going to be the same player as he was before he was injured. Of course this could be a Bobby Frasor type scenario and he could come back a significantly worse player. But we should just hope for the best, should we not?

You know, the less Ginyard plays, the better player he becomes. If he were to sit out next year, he might be the best defensive player since Bill Russell.

Didn't he play against Kansas in the first half of that game back in 2008?

Ginyard is good but he was basically this year's team's excuse if they didn't win the title after everyone said they should. Now all of a sudden, he has a reputation as a defensive stopper that exceeds any UNC player in history? Goodness, if Bobby Frasor couldn't stop Vasquez in College Park, I doubt Marcus can either.

Parrish's new Top 25(+1):

http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/story/11859618/rss

I pretty much agree with this. The breakdown is much more balanced than last year, which should make for a much more competitive season:

B10: 6
BE: 5
ACC: 3
B12: 3
SEC: 3
P10: 2

On paper, the Big 10 may actually be favored to win the ACC/B10 challenge. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Looks like UNC will have two Top-5 match-ups in December with Texas and MSU.

No doubt the loss of Johnson at Wake is bigger than losing Teague. I think in Wake's first loss to VT(?) Teague was obviously pouting and passing up the open jumpers he hit against the Heels.

The loss of Costner is a plus for State IMHO.

GT will be very interesting. Shumpert at PG is talented as well.

Courtney Fells will be interesting to follow. He had the ability to look like Koby Bryant at times and then he'd disappear. He like most of Sidney Lowe's team, played very little defense (which might bode well for him in the NBA) ;-)
