What: College World Series Elimination Game
Where: Rosenblatt Stadium, Omaha, NE
When: Tuesday, July 16th, 2 PM
Adam Warren is the last best hope for the Heels to stave off elimination.
I am guessing the Heels do not want to go out 0-2 so I figure they take this one and possibly one more. After that it is a crapshoot. Well, its baseball so that means it is a crapshoot regardless.

The Yankees beat the Mets 15-0 on Sunday, so that means the Yankees are so much better than the Mets….
I can’t get over the way that people try to equate results in baseball to other sports. You have different pitchers everyday in baseball. Imagine if the Tar Heels only played Tyler Hansbrough once every four days?
Baseball was designed to be a sport with a very long season. Someone has to win the College World Series and as long as all the teams are qualified to be there, then kudos to the winner, but I really can’t take it all that seriously. Baseball is not a sport where a team can step up and “take a stand.” Basically, it involves 9 guys each doing his own thing and hoping for the best.
Go Heels!
I’m trying to watch a little while here at work. 3-0 Heels don’t look too bad to start with.
That one Sunday was a real heartbreaker. I have to say that it is good to see them getting popular now. I can’t remember anyone really going to baseball games in the 1980′s.
Congrats to Ackley. Glad to see that record go to a Heel. Keep up the hitting, pitching, and base running, guys! Go Heels!
Hopefully Fox can yank Warren early and keep him rested. Being in the loser’s bracket means an extra game or two so they might need him on short rest, especially since White went 9 innings on Sunday.
My sister met Adam Warren and Garret Gore…just a fun fact.
Ackley is just ridiculous.
27 career CWS hits
.636 this CWS
.429 career CWS
.576 this NCAA tournament(despite going 2/8 vs ECU)
.419 career NCAA tournament
.421 this season
.413 career
Those numbers are beyond ridiculous.
Will it be Texas or Arizona St? I can’t decide who I should root for. I hope they go extra innings and have to throw many pitchers.
Go Heels!
Yay! I got tickets for Thursday night’s game!
Mrs. Andy in Omaha wants to come, too. Think I need to talk her out of it.,……..
That. Is. Not. Fair. Andy, you are one of the luckiest people in the world.
Since UNC is 1-3 when she’s in attendance at the game, I’m considering imposing that restraining order I talked about on a previous thread……
But of course I’m joking; I’m lucky that I married a woman who likes sports and loves baseball. I could never tell her she can’t come.
You might have to ask her to leave if things get bad. I kick my family out of the room if basketball games start going bad. Maybe thats why they won’t watch sports with me anymore…
