    Comments disabled?

Big TD from RW to answer FSU. Nice play.

  • I am not actively monitoring it so I just disabled it.

You know how I feel about Twatting. I was just surprised to see that while reading through the comments. I’d take a Saturday off, too, if I was you and UNX wasn’t playing.

BS penalty on Reid. NCAA acting like the NFL and penalizing players for doing what they have been taught to do all of their lives.

There’s nothing like beating VT, then tuning into the NC State call-in show on AM680 to hear the angst after a loss to FSU.

Wake is not to be toyed with, a good coach can burn one with less experience and that’s what we are seeing presently. I did think that once Duke went up they would stay there but that Groh is hard to stop once he wakes from his coma.

Someone is covering the Temple game in the twitter feed…really? How’s Leigh looking, will they take Monongahela Cup this year or will it fall to another powerhouse…

  • He is a Wash Times sports reporter. His normal beat is MD football and basketball. I guess today he was covering Navy-Temple today.

I’m looking forward to a very energized Kenan on Saturday. Not only do we have a chance to really make a big step toward’s a bowl, but the Heels can put a nail in Dook’s coffin.

Based on what I saw today, there is no reason the Heels can’t win out. Of course there was no reason to lose to UVA and to lose the way we lost to FSU either.

State’s call in show is a great source of entertainment. I didn’t listen today but several year’s ago, State got embarrassed by Clemson on the Thursday night ESPN game. You know, when they booed Chuck on the Jumbotron. One of the funniest moments was caller who had a severe southern drawl and was clearly drunk:

Caller: Hey, I just wanna say I can’t believe Pack fans booed Chuck tonight.

Terry Harvey: Yea, ummm, did you boo as well and leave early?

Caller: Well, yea, I did, I just can’t believe it’s come to this.

Terry Harvey: You got that right.

Duke is 3-1 in the ACC now — you can make a legitimate case for them actually being favored in the game against UNC next week. We’re not going to “put a nail in Duke’s coffin” even if we win (because if they lose to us and win out, they’ll still get at least a share of the Coastal Division title, and it’s up to tiebreakers to work things out beyond that), and I wouldn’t get over-confident about our chances — that’s going to be a tough game. Duke’s strengths on offense match up well with our (relative) weaknesses on D, and our offense still has the ability to make any sorry defense look like world-beaters.

And to toot my own horn a little bit — will ya look at that. Georgia Tech is tied 28-28 with Vandy in the 3rd quarter…

Jon, I didn’t say “final nail” just a “nail” ;-)

After UNC, Duke plays GT, Miami and Wake Forest. With a loss to the Heels, I would find it hard to believe they’d win 2 of those final 3. I do think our running game will be difficult for Duke to stop and keeping Lewis off the field will be the key to winning.

Agreed HP. I think Ryan Houston can wear down Duke’s defense and open up a lot of plays for Draughn. Hopefully UNC won’t need to throw the ball that much. I’d hate to leave the game in Yates’ hands with as how shaky he is.
In terms of the defensive side of the ball, I hope Withers takes what he did at the Tech game and applies to getting after Lewis. Bruce Carter and Quan Sturdivant have proven themselves that they can get after a QB and get results, and aren’t just coverage guys.
This should be a win for UNC…..but then again, so should have been the UVa and FSU games.
