I watched the 1st half of the Michigan State game the other night (to help with my depression following the Virginia football game) and it was just amazing to watch.

Hopefully, Roy has silenced his critics about being able to develop talent and his abilities as a bench coach. For example, Hansbrough became a passing threat over the last few weeks of the season, Wayne was the assasin and Lawson was simply the best player on the court, no doubt driven by Roy for 3 years to play at the level we saw in that tourney. Deon was fabulous on both ends of the court and I REALLY look forward to watching the Deon/ED tandem.

Anyone notice at 1:13, Davis was blocking a shot, had his elbow at the rim coming down. Gonna be a fun year.

I still get chills watching Tywon Lawson’s competetive juices on this championship run. Here is a guy who has had his guts tested, criticized, and publicly written about his whole tenure at UNC. He responds to the critics by beating Duke twice (largely because of him), and coming out during the 2nd half of the LSU game (injured) to put on a display of intestinal fortitude to secure UNC’s victory. Also, he sets a record for steals in the National Title game. If you hadn’t noticed, steals do not come easy, and are a result of hard work, and the sacrificing of one’s body to secure possession.

We still have the 6 tournament games on the DVR. Have watched them all more times than I think is probably sane. What a team and what domination of the NCAA tournament! I can’t get them out of my head nor do I want to.

The Heels will have teams that are equally and, possibly, more talented than last year’s version. What we are unlikely to see for a long time is a team that turns the NCAAT into it’s own, private, invitational.
