Preseason predictions are not worth the paper they’re printed on, so at least in the Internet era we don’t kill trees distributing these wild guesses. Remember State was in the NATIONAL top 25 in a preseason poll before completely coming unglued a couple of years ago. How can Duke be tied with UNC, when only one of the two teams has a full roster of backcourt players? I thought college basketball was a guard’s game. I think I’ll stick to the predictions made by throwing darts. And the ACC tournament in Phillips Arena? Where did that come from? I thought the tournament was going to rotate between the two big venues in Greensboro and Atlanta because it had outgrown all the other venues.

I’m not sure how you leave Aminu or Gani Lawal off the 1st team. They’d split my vote for POY.

No doubt this will be a much different team this year. I have a feeling that Larry Drew is the key. If he takes excellent care of the ball like he did down the stretch last season, I think UNC will be a lot better off than the doubters WANT them to be.
I know one thing for sure; I feel a lot better going into this season than I did going into the 2005-2006 season.

NC State and UVa, two teams that went to multiple Final Fours in the 70′s and 80′s are picked for the cellar. Not good, especially after all the money both schools spent to “improved” home courts.

None of those first team selections make the heart palpitate. I expect we will see some surprises. I am not sure Singler is all that different from Paulus in terms of talent. Davis seems to have a Bill Russell type game which can often be overlooked.

Considering Dave Leitao went from COY to fired in two years, expect the unexpected.

Singler? POY? You’re kidding right? Oh, you’re not, are you? That’s just laughable. And Ed I think, deserves to be first team, though I agree with THF that they could have put several other guys from out squad there considering past preformances and potential.

dook is getting way too much hype. I think Ryan Kelly actually has the chance to the most impactful newcomer. And he wanted to come to UNC!

Singler gets my vote for Elbow of the Year. And even then he’s overrated. Was there a single time last year when they went to him for the game-winning shot?
