Four Tar Heels Named To All-ACC First Team

On defense of course.  UNC had two more defensive players on the 2nd team and Casey Barth picked up honors as 2nd team kicker. Here is the full list via the ACC:

Offense QB-Josh Nesbitt, Georgia Tech (50) RB-Jonathan Dwyer, Georgia Tech (67) RB-Ryan Williams, Virginia Tech (63) WR-Demaryius Thomas, Georgia Tech (63) WR-Donovan Varner, [...]

Heels Probably Headed To Music City Bowl

Take your pick as to whether you want to get pissed over the NCSU or UVa loss.  Or both. Still, this is a decent bowl.  Nashville is fun right? And UNC should bring a nice crowd.

As for the opponent, ACC Now is saying it will be Kentucky. ESPN in their most recent bowl projections [...]

Butch Davis Watch 2009

And here I thought we were going to make it through this season without having to do this dance. As you probably know, Charlie Weis will soon be a consultant for some playoff bound NFL team(probably New England) and the self deluded folks in South Bend will be on the prowl for a new head [...]

UNC 80 Nevada 73

Very tough game, much more than I thought.  I agree with Roy Williams assessment . The Heels were hit the mouth, got into a dogfight midway through the second half and raised the level of their play.  Down the stretch UNC’s depth became a factor and the Heels made plays late to ensure the win [...]

UNC-Nevada Game Thread

For those of you just emerging from your tryptophan induced coma, UNC lost to the Wolfpack of NC State in football yesterday and now plays the Wolf Pack of Nevada in basketball this evening.  I really hope this one goes much better.  As far as UNC’s menu, this is the appetizer before UNC heads off [...]

It Was A Successful Season…Right?

I think so and mind you it is not over yet, unlike the team in Raleigh that won yesterday.

At the start of the season if I put the names Virginia, Virginia Tech, Miami and NCSU in front of you and asked for UNC’s record in those four games what would you have said? I [...]

#11 UNC vs Nevada

Where: Dean Smith Center, Chapel Hill, NC When: Sunday, November 29th, 6:45 PM TV: Fox Sports Live Stats: SCACC Hoops Records: UNC 5-1; Nevada 2-2

UNC has had four days of practice since the win over Gardner-Webb which Roy Williams was hoping would be extremely productive in terms of team development. Obviously this game is [...]

NCSU 28 UNC 27

Unacceptable.

This game broke at two points.

Johnny White fumbles on the one.

UNC’s completely undisciplined play which lead to penalty after penalty and gave NCSU a touchdown while snuffing out other UNC drives.

That’s it.

See you Sunday for basketball.

#23 UNC vs NC State

Where: Carter-Finley Stadium, Raleigh, NC When: Saturday, November 28th, Noon TV: ESPN2 Records: UNC 8-3, 4-3 ACC; NCSU 4-7, 1-6 ACC

41-10

Those numbers have been a pox on the UNC house for over a year now. Any football discussion with NCSU fans comes back to that score.  It was an embarrassment. It was humiliating. [...]

Happy Thanksgiving

Old school Brad Daughtery, Steve Hale, James Daye and Warren Martin hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Seth Davis Has A Lucid Moment

Just one mind you.

Sports Illustrated will be naming a Sportsman of the Year on November 30th and Seth Davis for all he is putrid Dookiness, nominates Tyler Hansbrough for the award. I know even a blind hog finds an acorn every once in a while.

So credit where it is due because Davis fears [...]
