Take your pick as to whether you want to get pissed over the NCSU or UVa loss. Or both. Still, this is a decent bowl. Nashville is fun right? And UNC should bring a nice crowd.
As for the opponent, ACC Now is saying it will be Kentucky. ESPN in their most recent bowl projections has South Carolina in this bowl opposite UNC.
I think either match-up is a good one. If it is UNC-UK then they will call it the Basketball School Bowl. UNC-SCAR would be a lot of fun from a regional rivalry point of view. Obviously the SEC still has to figure out what they are doing with their matchups. UNC is pretty much a lock for Nashville since it is unlikely they go back to Charlotte for a 2nd straight season.

I’m actually pretty excited about this game! My dad said he might get me tickets for Christmas, so that’s cool with me!
i have made my hotel reservations, just need to confirm with the tickets. I am excited. Nashville is an awesome place.
It seems like Nashville would be fun – more fun than sitting at home, for sure. Congrats on a good season – yes, I would trade seasons with y’all if I could. Actually, I’d like to just trade defenses and go back in time to late August.
Good luck in the bowl game – as I’ve said before, I can’t pull for your team, but I can be happy for my friends when their team wins.
I can’t wait. I have some close friends up there who are (bit) players in the music biz up there and always take me to see the best bands in some pretty cool bars. We drink on the cheap, too. Not free, but not expensive, and always fun. Nashville is a pretty great city all around: great food, great bars, very nice setting, great places to stay, and lots of things to do. Watching the Heels is gravy after that. It’s not a bad drive, either.
I would welcome the Music City Bowl but I’m not too sure about the drive with I-40 out of commission. Will need to look into the best route through that business. I did the tickets already and locked in a room for the 26th. Will have to consider the night after – need to see what the schedule will be to determine that one – 7:30PM kickoff.
As far as I-40 closed west of Asheville. Best bet is to take I-26 into Tennessee and connect to I-81 Southbound to reconnect to I-40. Although, depending on where you come from in NC, you may want to consider going north up 74/77 by Mount Airy into Virginia to I-81. I typically go that way on my TN-NC trips. Sometimes I go through Boone or through Asheville using I-26. But as far as the rockslide on I-40 west of Asheville: they are pushing the 26 to 81 option.
