Whew this team is rough folks. Very rough. I was so tempted to turn it off after Deon was unable to get a rebound on a missed free throw. Pure laziness. He is doing a good job of pulling attention away from Ginyard, who finally played well and they STILL got blown out. So many open looks for Maryland. This team should be downright embarrassed with their play. They have shown zero heart this year. ZERO. I absolutely fear Wed. night. I am going in with no expectations but they are going to get shredded.

The worst thing about this season is that Carolina is no longer the top program in college basketball.

Get a grip on reality. That is the LAST thing on the “worst” list for this team.

@boulderheel….when an intelligent fan base (and that’s what I consider the majority of posters on this blog to be) is exposed to the horrendous play that we have seen since mid-December, those fans have every right to step to the edge of the ledge in their criticism. Your comments lead me to believe that you may be softer than our post players, and that’s ok. You have every right to express your side. I would, however, caution you on directing some of the tougher fans, myself included, to back off. There hasn’t been a single post tonight that even remotely comes close to crossing the line.

I would have thought that John Wall, trashing his coach then apologizing by saying, he’s developing me for the nba. Wall doesn’t care for 2 seconds about KY. That’s not what we want. We will have Barnes and Bullock next year and most everyone else. We knew this year would be rough and it is. KY will be on probabtion soon enough, it’s their reality. You just wonder what happened to the team we saw against Ohio State and MSU.

Ginyard looked terrible on defense. He was clearly out of position on several plays they ended up showing replays of. I don’t know who his main task on defense was but we got torched by both of their guards so it doesn’t really matter.

But no, this loss isn’t on him. This team is not any good. There are only two guys on this entire team that look like they have game, Henson and Zeller and neither of them get to play. I will include Ed Davis of last year as a guy that has game.

I am sorry, but no, Dexter Strickland is not good, not as a point guard anyway. He has had maybe two decent outings the whole year. McDonald is not impressive. The Wears are not impressive. I don’t know who was responsible for talent evaluation with respect to these guys, but somebody please tell me that we don’t have another 5 McDonald’s All Americans like these guys the next couple of years.

These guys can’t run, jump, dripple, catch or shoot. It is kind of cool having twins on our team and guys with cool nicknames like L-mac and Strick on our team, though….

First off, I am becoming more excited about our upcoming season next year. Henson played a good game, and while it was in the last 30 seconds, had that Durant pull-up jumper that we all thought we’d be seeing. He will become more confident in attempting those as the season goes on. This Duke game will be one that we will have to have quality and quantity minutes from Strickland. If Duke comes out of the gate missing those 3 pointers, it will be imperative that Strick can run back quick on offense for easy buckets. If you recall last year, Duke (while being a good defensive team)(also, while getting by not drawing fouls on contact) had weaknesses. One of those weaknesses was transition defense. Lawson torched them! We need that Strickland that steals the ball, gets the rebounds, and moves up the court in a hurry. If we do that, Duke is beatable.

The first comment above just cracked me up. You will mellow over time, I have. And THF, I couldn’t agree more. I see flashes of brilliance and think they are getting it together, then they pretend they have never played.

I actually changed the channel twice on this one, I NEVER do that. Embarrassed to have done so though. I did think Marcus had a good game overall. Still can’t believe they hit that many threes, but the Heels left them open, wide open. Wanda could have made one.

Maybe we here at THF blog can expect a loss Wednesday and perhaps be given a surprise. Remember it is DUKE…anything can happen in that one.
