UNC Picks Up 2013 Commit

Record time from offer to commitment?

Isaiah Hicks, 6-7 power forward from Raleigh, NC committed to UNC this evening roughly two hours after receiving an offer from Roy Williams during a visit to Chapel Hill. Hicks is presently ranked #13 overall by Scout.com and is the fifth rated power forward in the class. His Scout.com profile can be found here. Inside Carolina has a rundown of the visit, offer and commitment. C.Michael pointed out Hicks may have broken the commitment record previously held by Reggie Bullock and P.J. Hairston.

For those unfamiliar with Hicks, here is a highlight video.

Roy has been on a scholarship offer binge of late. The offer to Hicks was one of four in the past week to prospects in the 2012 and 2013 classes. For 2012 Iowa big man Adam Woodbury confirmed an offer from UNC as did SF T.J. Warren who is an AAU teammate of Hicks. NC State is also recruiting Warren. Along with Hicks in the 2013 class, Roy has offered SF Jabari Parker and is stepping up recruitment of 6-10 big man Mitch McGary. There are times when Roy floods the zone with offers to multiple players at the same time and makes it a "first come, first serve" kind of deal.

From what I have seen in recruiting of late, the situations with multiple players UNC is interested in have been very fluid and more often than not involving Duke, Kentucky or both competing with the Heels.
