Heels Receive #6 National Seed

Home field advantage all the way to Omaha.

The NCAA Baseball Tournament bracket was released today and UNC was given a coveted national seed. The Heels were seeded #6 and will host a regional next weekend in Chapel Hill. Should UNC advance to the Super Regional the Heels would host the winner from the Tuscon Regional.

UNC will begin play in the regional round beginning on Friday at 6 PM against Cornell in a double elimination format. East Carolina will take on St. John's in the other game with the winners meeting on Saturday.

UNC has not lost a home game in regional play in the last five stints as host for a record of 15-0.

While it is early, Kent Emanuel will likely start the first game against Cornell with either Benton Moss or Hobbs Johnson following on Saturday.
