Report: UNC, SCAR to Play in Charlotte in 2015

Bob Donnan-US PRESSWIRE

The Charlotte Observer is reporting UNC and South Carolina will play at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte during the 2015 season.

The official announcement of the game -- which will be played Sept. 5, 2015 -- is expected to come at a news conference Thursday morning at the stadium.

The two teams are scheduled to open the 2013 season at Columbia in a return game for the 2007 match-up in Chapel Hill which the Gamecocks won 21-15.

Playing the game in Charlotte probably still means a slightly more South Carolina flavored crowd but the Tar Heels should still be well represented making it a true neutral site game. North Carolina's all-time record at Bank of America Stadium is 2-3.
