Roy Williams and Marcus Paige Meet the Media

John David Mercer-USA TODAY Spor

UNC head coach Roy Williams and sophomore guard Marcus Paige met with the media on Tuesday to discuss UNC's upcoming round of 64 game against the #11 seeded Providence Friars.

Williams indicated that UNC had had one of their best practices of the season and there has been a lot focus on rebounding. As noted here, the Tar Heels have seen their offensive rebounding rate suffer which has coincided with UNC struggling in the past five games.

Paige said his left thumb, which he had taped in the ACC Quarterfinals vs Pittsburgh is fine and Williams said Paige had been practicing without the wrap. Paige also said his quadricep, which he bruised last Friday, is "getting better" and he should be ready to go when UNC opens NCAA Tournament play three days from now.

As for UNC's schedule in San Antonio, the Heels will meet the media again on Thursday. The players will be available from 3:45-4:00 PM CDT and Roy Williams will have his press conference at 4:00 PM.

Open practice for UNC will be 4:25 PM to 5:05 PM CDT. Why is open practice a big deal? J.P. Tokoto, that's why.
