^All that's fair. I would say that my main point is that in making "an objective assessment" of this game, I find more to be concerned with than the Dook game. Leslie had 10 more points than he has had in any of his three prior games, and we out-rebounded them 48-26 in the game earlier this year. In that game we went 5-16 from three and won by 19. I just feel like the game that was played last night demonstrates the short-comings of this team more than the Dook loss. If you can pack it in, play physical on Zeller and to a lesser degree on Barnes, and hit a fair amount of threes (which State didn't do) then we have a high probability of losing. That's what I got out of the FSU and UNLV games. Obviously, losing by 33 to FSU was an outlier, but that would have been trouble even if they were conscious. We don't really seem to have an answer for that, because we generally want to (and need to) work inside first. Zeller is very good, but he can't carry us against those teams.

"Just go back and look at the “sky is falling” Dook comments. There are none of those here."

I'm sure you're right about the ratio of good to bad comments, though there were a lot of positive comments on the Duke game, after the shock wore off, about how well they played for the huge majority of the game. I think it had less to do with an objective assessment of their play in the respective games than it did with the normal responses for a win versus a loss. And the fact that the loss was against Duke, and that it happened in the shocking manner it did.

wayne - I would hurt him when the ref wouldn't see it. Making it a penalty plays into their strategy.

1) Marshall's best game as a Tar Heel, and what I like best is that he executed like he was suppose to and took advantage of what the defense gave him. In a nutshell he made plays vs. trying to force assists

2) Reggie Bullock was fabulous, he has adjusted to the new extended minutes and responsibilities and appears to have gotten his second wind. I just love his game and how he constantly is moving without the ball and hitting the offensive and defensive boards.

3) Defensive rebounding was a problem, but considering how well Carolina has rebounded we'll chalk that up to being an outlier vs. the norm.

4) The spacing as many have mentioned is much improved on offense and the execution against the zone was very efficient.

5) Barnes is becoming more efficient, he still tries to go 1 on 3 sometimes, but he is doing a better job of picking he spots on when to force it.

Hopefully this team is hitting its stride with another tough test coming on Saturday in a place (either U-Hall or JPJ)where historically Carolina does not play well.

Last night, Kendall Marshall did his best Jimmy Fallon impression:

"Who doesn't want more butta? I'll take it. I'll make it rain up in hereaaah!."

If you watch the Capital One commercial, I think they must have paid KM to throw the wad of cash to Jimmy:

Good for Marshall, and good for the team. To win the championship, or make a deep run the team needs 5 scorers on the floor at any time and credible perimeter threats to spread the defense. If someone wants to play zone against this team they should be made to pay like this. Keep it up!
