Movement afoot to remove Tar Heel name from Carolina's sports teams.

It seems to me like somebody is looking for trouble with this one.

UNC athletics, Rams Club receives their largest gift in history from Eddie Smith Jr. and family

+

"The field at Kenan Stadium will have a new name after University of North Carolina athletics and the Rams Club received the largest gift in their history. The school announced a multimillion dollar gift from the Eddie and Jo Allison Smith Family Foundation on Monday. The gift will support the UNC football program, specifically the salaries of the assistant coaches, improvement to the Kenan Football Center and the football operation endowment. The field at Kenan Stadium will also be named Chris Smith Field, for Smith’s son who is involved in university and athletics leadership roles and serves as a member of the Rams Club’s executive board of directors."

Coby White sets franchise record in win against the Knicks!

Coby White hit seven(!!!) threes in the fourth quarter of tonight’s game against the New York Knicks, giving them a much-needed 120-102 victory. His seven makes from deep set a franchise record.

Proposed 2019 ACC-Big Ten Challenge Matchups

+

I have North Carolina playing Maryland. The Terrapins are ranked in many "way too early" 2019-20 polls and the two can bring back memories of the old ACC matchups between the two. I can also see UNC hosting Ohio State. I have Michigan State, the consensus #1, hosting Duke. Both MSU and UNC were on the road and I think both would want to host next year plus I wanted to see a rematch of last year's final when the Spartans knocked them out. What do you think about the other matchups? Who do you see as good and bad teams in the ACC next season?

North Carolina - Team of the Millennium

At least so far. They are tied for the most NCAA championships (3) and most tournament wins (50) since 2000.

South View’s Simmons joins Brown’s rebuilding efforts at UNC

I watched him closely this year since he was committed to Penn State. I am impressed with him as a player and by reading this article, I can understand his choice. Carolina has picked up a gem in Emery Simmons.

Schmolik 64 Update (2/19/18) - Why Not UNC for a #1 Seed?

+

That's right Tar Heel fans, you're on the top line! Midwest Regional too, #3 overall! #5 RPI and five top 25 RPI wins. I think you have the toughest regional though. 1. North Carolina, 2. Michigan State, 3. Kansas, 4. Gonzaga!

Schmolik 64 Update (2/16/18) - North Carolina Midwest Regional #2 Seed

+

I don't know why the Selection Committee last week had Duke ahead of North Carolina when the Tar Heels beat Duke (and also beat Clemson when Duke didn't). I have Carolina as a #2 seed. They are ahead of Duke on my S-Curve and going to Charlotte (although Duke is also a #2 seed but they are going to Nashville and getting shipped out to the West Regional).
