Former UNC Football Coach Dies at 93

If you've read the newsfeed on the left side of the page, you've probably caught the fact that former President Gerald Ford, who died this week had UNC connections, spending time in Chapel Hill for Navy Preflight school, where he also coached the Tar Heels in nine sports, including football, boxing, and swimming. The AP also mentions his attendance at UNC law school, but since he graduated from Yale Law in 1941, I'm not sure exactly what he did there. Regardless, he'll always be remembered as the sharp contrast to Duke's most famous law grad.

Pride  of Detroit has a good sports-related obituary, and The American Prospect a quick political one.
