ACC Basketball Update(1/14)

Maryland 92 Clemson 87

Clemson loses for the first time this season at Maryland who happened to figure out how to shoot the basketball. In fact that is an understatement, Maryland shot 40% better from the floor than they did against Miami and out five players in double figures. James Mays did his part despite shooting poorly with 23 points and 15 rebounds but it was not enough against a Terps team really looking to get off the snide and win an ACC game.

Boston College 78 Virginia 73

BC is 4-0 in the ACC after some very questionable losses in the non-conference portion of the schedule. Jared Dudley had a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds while largely controlling UVa through 19 turnovers. BC's ACC schedule stiffens some and will get much tougher come February. UVa continues to be inconsistent and is really in search of a stable offense.

Georgia Tech 88 Florida State 80

GT got even in the conference beating FSU at home. The Noles who have played well enough in every conference game except for the one at Chapel Hill is 0-3 in the conference and really needs to grab a win in conference and soon or they could be too far out to get serious traction on an NCAA Tournament bid.

NC State 88 Wake Forest 74

Sidney Lowe get his first ACC win as a coach. Despite 19 turnovers which was more than equaled by Wake's 22, NC State shot a blistering 60% from the floor and had five in double figures.

Virginia Tech 94 UNC 88

UNC will not being going 16-0.
