On the day UNC honored the perfect of the 1957 season and the greatness of the 1982 national champions, it was fitting Wake Forest was the opponent just so the Heels could exact revenge for one of the two losses they suffered in the regular season 25 years ago. UNC answered Wake's brief one point lead at 23-22 with a 29-9 run to close the half and it continued into the second stanza pretty much unabated. If I was Roy Williams I would get a Demon Deacon jersey and wave it in front of Reyshawn Terry before every game. Terry went off for 23 points and 8 rebounds which also included a 3-3 effort from beyond the arc. Aside from Terry the rest of the usual suspects showed up to play in the form of Hansbrough and Wright. Wayne Ellington had 11 points and 5 assists. Ty Lawson put up seven points and six assists.
It was a fairly dominating performance and a nice win to get under the belt before hosting Virginia Tech in what we all hope is a major revenge game and then a road game next weekend at Boston College which could be for outright first place in the conference.
