The preseason coaches poll came out today. Yes, preseason polls are bad for football, yes, Steve Spurrier is still giving a 25th place vote to Duke, and yes, UNC isn't in the Top 25. None of this is surprising. What is interesting is that USA Today has listed the coaches voting this year. Here they are, with emphasis on the ACC coaches and other notables:

The breakdown by conference is: ACC (6), SEC (7), Big Ten (7), Big 12 (6), Pac-10 (5), Big East (4), Conference USA (6), MAC (6), MWC (4), WAC (4), Sun Belt (4) and one lonely independent. It's 36 BCS schools versus 24 small-market and 40 on the East Coast versus 20 on the West. Gentlemen, start your conspiracy theories.
