History in the making.
We all know this game is more or less about Tyler Hansbrough passing Phil Ford's scoring mark at UNC. In fact there are now plans to stop the game when it happens and acknowledge the milestone. It will be a great moment and one most of us will be happy to see happen.
I would also point out there is a danger here in the form of a 7-1 Evansville team who probably does not give a crap about which record is being broken. Yes, it is proper to focus on and celebrate what Hansbrough has done but there is business to handle. Evansville could prove plenty dangerous so as much as the attention will be on Hansbrough, Roy should make certain the Heels show up to play tonight.
And I think they will. The rust was knocked off against Oral Roberts and with classes currently out of session these guys have been completely focused on basketball for the past few days. I am sure it makes for a nice time of year for the coaches to know they have their team's undivided attention in practice. Even with the attention being given to Hansbrough pursuit of Ford, this is still a veteran team that knows how to play with distractions afoot. Evansville is a decent team but I expect UNC to come out with a solid effort this evening to make Hansbrough's historical night a fun one for the home crowd.
