UNC Women's Season Ends in New Orleans

New, 1 comment

The Tar Heels are only sending one team to the Final Four, as UNC fell to two-seed Louisiana State 56 to 50. Carolina misses the Final Four for the first time since 2005, when they also lost in the regional finals, this time to eventual champion Baylor. I fully expect all the people horrified that the men's team played in Charlotte to be equally outraged - outraged I say! - that LSU never left the state of Louisiana during the tournament.

UNC loses four seniors, including starting big women Eriana Larkins and LaToya Pringle. Larkins will be missed the most, in no small part because of her measured, polite analysis of the game:

"We played like [expletive] on offense," Larkins said. "Excuse my language. Tonight we did not move. We just stood still."

The three opponents UNC lost to this year had a combined 8 losses and ended the season ranked 1st, 2nd, and 6th.
