Major League Baseball held its draft Tuesday night and UNC 1B Dustin Ackley was the 2nd overall pick to the Seattle Mariners. P Alex White was taken 15th overall by the Cleveland Indians. The Mariners also picked up 3B Kyle Seager in the third round.
UNC football recruit Donavan Tate was selected 3rd overall which means he will not be stepping foot on campus in Chapel Hill. Tate was rated as a four star safety by Scout.com.
Ackley, White and Seager now turn their attention to going out in style and winning a national title. UNC opens up CWS play versus #5 seeded Arizona St at 2 PM on Sunday, June 14th.
