Via ACC Now:
Out: C Lowell Dyer (shoulder), TE Zack Pianalto (foot), TE Ryan Taylor (knee).
Doubtful: LB Linwan Euwall (ankle), CB LeCount Fantroy (thigh).
Questionable: WR Joshua Adams (shoulder), G Jonathan Cooper (ankle)
The noticeable change? WR Dwight Jones is off the list this week but his backup Joshua Adams is listed as questionable with a shoulder injury. Jones was back at practice this week but according to Butch Davis being brought along very slowly. Since we are talking about a wide receiver's knee I imagine caution the size of Steve Spurrier's ego would not be sufficient in terms of making the decision to bring Jones back. The problem for UNC is how questionable is Joshua Adams and if he is really questionable does that mean Jones gets pushed back for this game? Or does Davis continue to lean on the likes of Erik Highsmith and Jhay Boyd along with Greg Little? Given the performance of Highsmith and Boyd last week I saw leave Jones out as long as possible. If UNC can get by the Yellow Jackets without Jones, then he has two easy games versus UVa and Georgia Southern plus the bye week to get integrated back into the offense.
Jonathan Cooper is still listed as questionable and having him back at 100% would be crucial. The Jackets have some power on the defensive line so a great deal rides on how much protection T.J. Yates gets. UNC needs all hands on deck for this one before the schedule eases up.
