Sophomore WR Dwight Jones will miss the opener versus The Citadel and is schedule for arthroscopic knee surgery on Friday. According to ACC Now Jones' return will be determined after the surgery. Freshman Joshua Adams slides into Jones spot opposite Greg Little.
This is not good news considering the question surrounding the receiving corps were already big enough to kill small animals. Jones should be able to bounce back from this without any major issues, but it would be nice to get one game in against a cream puff team for the sake of working timing with T.J. Yates and what not. The upside is, Adams gets some experience and since he has been enrolled since January he is not nearly as green as most freshman. Adams received a lot of praise for his playing during the spring so for this short stint UNC will be fine. Beyond that, the Heels need Jones back.
