Heels Play First Exhibition Game in Bahamas[UPDATED]

Update: Box score for UNC players can be found here. IC has pictures which you should view, if for no other reason, than to see freshmen in Carolina blue.

Hey, they won! Granted it was against a team that apparently had a player who was 6"1 and 300 pounds but it is all about the experience of playing together. UNC beat the Commonwealth Bank Giants 130-87. Tyler Zeller led all scorers with 24 points and also had 13 rebounds. Harrison Barnes and Reggie Bullock both had 21 points and eight boards. Dexter Strickland had 18 and Justin Watts 13 to round out the Tar Heel double figure scorers. Kendall Marshall, who started in place of an injured Larry Drew, had five assists. The starting lineup, in case you were wondering, was: Marshall, Stickland, Barnes, John Henson and Zeller. I can only assume Will Graves is not ready to go since Strickland started at SG.

This is one of those things you cannot draw too much from except this: In reading the updates on Inside Carolina one thing was perfectly clear. Barnes has "taking care of business" down to an art form. Diving on the floor fighting for the ball with two opposing players. Responding to consecutive dunks from the Giants with a block and a three. In short, Barnes gives a crap and I think it is contagious.

The Heels have one more game in the Bahamas before heading back to Chapel Hill.
