Former Tar Heel King Rice, now the head coach at Monmouth, is probably best known for two things during his UNC career. One was hitting the game winner vs James Madison in the 1989 Maui Classic which avoided an 0-3 start for UNC. Prior to that, as a freshman Rice filled in for an injured Jeff Lebo as the Heels beat #1 Duke by 20 in Durham during the 1989 season.
