Joel James Doubtful For Sunday's Game vs Wake Forest

Liz Condo-USA TODAY Sports

Joel James, who sprained the MCL in his right knee vs Texas on December 18th, has returned to limited practice but likely won't play on Sunday when UNC opens the ACC season on Sunday versus Wake Forest. If James misses his fourth straight game, then it will be either Brice Johnson and Kennedy Meeks starting at center. Neither have played well as a starter. That being said Johnson looked much better on Tuesday against UNCW.

Outside of the James injury, the team head into ACC play healthy and Williams' primary concern has been consistency. He hopes they can be really good defensively noting that the defense hasn't really hurt them so far this season.

One note from James Michael McAdoo. He has been working on bringing the arch down on his free throws. McAdoo said he didn't know where the pronounced arch came from and it happened without him realizing it. He has been working with assistant coach Hubert Davis on making some adjustments.

Related to that, be sure to watch the video where McAdoo comes very close to going Allen Iverson on the questions about his free throw shooting.
