The Preseason Accolades Parade Has Begun

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

First up, CBS Sports with its preseason All-American team.

Marcus Paige is named to the first team, the first of what is sure to be many such teams, lists, etc. the junior guard will appear on. Paige took the college basketball world by storm last season taking up the scoring production lost when P.J. Hairston's affinity for rental cars kept him from being eligible. Paige ended the season as a first team All-ACC pick and led the Heels in scoring with 17.5 points per game.

Going into this season, Paige is a known commodity but playing on what should be a more well-rounded offensive team. That could mean slightly less scoring and more in the way of facilitation. That being said, he is the only returning Tar Heel who has a reliable three point shot. Providing that Paige improves, that three point shooting could be around 40% this season.

Also of note on this team is the selection of two Duke freshman. One, center Jahlil Okafor is Gary Parrish's choice for national player of the year. Freshman PG Tyus Jones received third team honors. Louisville's Montrezl Harrell was also named to the first team giving the ACC four of the 15 slots.
