The last of the major high school all-star games were announced on Monday with three future Tar Heels being named to play in the Jordan Brand Classic. Incoming recruits Joel Berry and Justin Jackson were named to the East Team and Theo Pinson will be part of the West Team. Berry and Jackson will briefly be teammates with three soon-to-rivals as future Blue Devils Tyus Jones, Grayson Allen and Jahli Okafor were also named to the East squad. Pinson will be on the same team with incoming Duke player Justise Winslow.
UNC will have all three recruits play in both the McDonald's All-American game and the Jordan Brand Classic. Berry and Pinson were also selected to play for Team USA in the Nike Hoops Summit. Here is the schedule for these games which will happen in April.
April 2, 2014: McDonald's All-American Game, United Center, Chicago, IL
April 12, 2014: Nike Hoop Summit, Moda Center, Portland, OR
April 18, 2014: Jordan Brand Classic, Barclay's Center, Brooklyn, NY
While these games have little value in terms of projecting how good a player might be, they still serve as introduction for most fans to the newest Tar Heels. These three players will be important pieces on a 2014-15 UNC team that has the potential to be at least top ten, maybe even better.
