UNC's record breaking tight end Eric Ebron didn't wait long to hear his name called at the NFL Draft. The Detroit Lions used the 10th overall pick to take Ebron adding another weapon to an already prolific passing offense. Ebron will join WR Calvin Johnson and give QB Matthew Stafford another target.
Harold Gutmann of the Durham Herald-Sun notes Ebron is UNC's 8th top ten in school history pick joining the likes of Julius Pepper and Lawrence Taylor.
UNC Top 10 picks: Willard (No. 2), LT (No. 2), Peppers (No. 2), Huff (No. 3), Sims (No. 6), Cooper (No. 7), Ellis (No. 8), Ebron (No. 10)

Ebron's selection marks the fourth straight year UNC has had at least one first round pick in the NFL Draft and the fifth time in six years it has happened. He is also the 23rd first round pick in UNC history.
The top ten selection caps off a huge day for Ebron who also got engaged to his girlfriend Brittany Rountree atop the Empire State Building earlier today.
