For the Tar Heels the Coastal Division is just within grasp. All UNC has to do is overcome one of the most emotionally charged games, possibly in Lane Stadium history to punch a ticket for Charlotte on December 5th. It should be noted that, unlike past UNC teams, there doesn't seem to be a vibe coming from this team that they will lack focus or motivation out there. The question is can the Tar Heels continue to play clean offensive football, maintain offensive balance and get enough from the defense to close the deal before Pittsburgh takes the field against Louisville at 3:30 PM.

The second part of the quasi-doubleheader with UNC facing Northern Iowa in a true road game against a mid-major that has made its share of noise in recent years. Marcus Paige will not play and based on recent results, college basketball teams in general have gotten off to sluggish starts. UNC's margin of victory says the Tar Heels are not one of them despite some uneven play at times. This will likely be a tough game but one that should provide a solid test to the top ranked Tar Heels.
