UNC's Historic Season by the Numbers

Rob Kinnan-USA TODAY Sports

First up, let's take a moment to look at the final ACC standings for 2015.

2015 ACC Standings

Carolina's 11-1 regular season has included a number of new records. A few of them.

-UNC's 11 game win streak is the longest in school history

-The 2015 team joins 1972, 1980 and 1997 as the only Tar Heel teams to win 11 games in a season.

-UNC has won eight games in ACC play, a new record. It is the first time since 1980 UNC has finished league play with an unblemished record.

-Through 12 games, UNC has scored 495 total points for an average of 41.25 points per game. Both are UNC records.

-For the first time in ACC Championship Game history, both teams will enter the game unbeaten in league play.

-Marquise Williams is now UNC's career leader in total offense with 9794 yards passing Darian Durant.

-How good has Elijah Hood been? Hood's 1280 yards is the third best season by a Tar Heel ever behind Mike Voight's 1407 yards in 1976 and Don McCauley's 1720 yards in 1970.

-Hood's 220 yards versus NC State is the 14th best single game effort by a Tar Heel and only the third time since 2000 a UNC player has registered 200 yards rushing in a game.

-On the season Hood has 16 rushing touchdowns, fourth best in school history. Hood needs just four more to break Don McCauley's single season mark of 19.

-Hood is averaging 6.67 yards per carry. That is fourth best in a season for a UNC rusher behind Charlie Justice(7.2), Kelvin Bryant(6.677) and Gio Berrnard(6.673).
