Tar Heels News 10/22/16: Who steps up with Theo Pinson out?

Carolina basketball needs a new starter; UNC vs UVA could feature a ton of offense

Richmond Times-Dispatch | Mike Barber: Saturday’s matchup between the Cavaliers and Tar Heels features UVA’s porous pass defense and UNC’s prolific passing game. The clash of those two things makes the odds of plenty of offense very high. Will Carolina’s passing game still thrive without Mack Hollins, though?

Chapelboro.com | Art Chansky: Twenty years ago, it looked as though Carolina was on the verge of snapping their streak of losses in Charlottesville. It wasn’t to be, as UVA climbed back into the game and stole one from the Tar Heels. UNC is the favorite to win in Charlottesville this weekend, and they’ve enjoyed more dominance up north as of late, but don’t forget what came before that.

Cavalier Insider | Andrew Ramspacher: How do UNC and UVA stack up against each other at various positions? UNC has the edge with Mitch Trubisky and his receivers. The one place UVA really has the edge is at linebacker. Carolina can also claim superiority when it comes to their special teams.

Carolina Blue | Ross Martin: Now that Theo Pinson is out indefinitely with a broken foot, UNC basketball is going to need a new starter. So who steps up? Sophomore Kenny Williams is an option, as is Nate Britt. Seventh Woods should also see an increase in his projected playing time with Pinson out.
