Tar Heels News 10/28/16: Mitch Trubisky ranked as Mel Kiper’s no. 1 quarterback

Praise for Trubisky, college field designs ranked

NCAA Football: North Carolina at Florida State Melina Vastola-USA TODAY Sports

Carolina Blue | Ross Martin: Mel Kiper ranks Mitch Trubisky as his number 1 quarterback prospect for the draft and 14th on his big board. Kiper calls Trubisky the best signal caller in the country. That kind of recognition could make Trubisky’s year as the Tar Heels’ quarterback his first and last.

Sports Illustrated | Andrew Vailliencourt: In a ranking of the best college field designs in football, Kenan Stadium comes in at number 12 on SI’s list. Their praise comes from the fact that Carolina changes their design a lot - black and blue, patriotic, and standard blue end zones - and each way they go seems to work well. Coming in at number 1? The Rose Bowl.

Inside Carolina | Greg Barnes: Despite the fact that UNC basketball will have to play without Theo Pinson for an undetermined amount of time, Roy Williams is still dedicated to using his small lineup. With only four post players on the team, Williams says utilizing that smaller lineup can give his team an advantage.

Raleigh & Company | R.L. Bynum: Isaiah Hicks is determined to play more disciplined basketball this year in order to limit his foul trouble. Now that he is projected to be a starter, Hicks thinks he won’t be as pressured to make an immediate impact off the bench, which he thinks led to some of his silly fouls.
