Joel Berry motivated by loss, UNC can lean on seniors

Today’s U | Tom Shanahan: Although Duke is presently ranked ahead of the Tar Heels in the preseason polls, Carolina has something that proved to be very valuable last year that is still lacking in Durham: senior leadership. Those senior leaders have changed for the Heels, but the level of experience they have can certainly help lead them back to where they were last season.

Raleigh & Company | R.L. Bynum: The night that broke every Carolina fan’s heart earlier this year also broke the hearts of the players. Joel Berry, particularly, felt the sting of that loss. Berry plans to use that pain as motivation going forward, stepping into a bigger role on the team this season.

WRAL Sports Fan | Caulton Tudor: UNC hasn’t gotten the help it needs to return to the ACC Championship game with Virginia Tech prevailing against Miami and Pitt. The Hokies have a fairly easy schedule to close out the season, and all Carolina can do is hope the Hokies slip up and go out and win their own games.

Carolina Blue | Ross Martin: Larry Fedora broke out the helicopter on Friday for recruiting trips between Charlotte and Greensboro. The man knows how to make an entrance and an exit.
