Inside Carolina | Greg Barnes: Ranking 105th in the country in defense, the Tar Heels have struggled. Gene Chizik was unable to pinpoint a specific reason why the unit has struggled, but missed assignments and missed tackles have definitely been an issue.

Daily Press | David Teel: Virginia Tech hasn’t been tested the way the Tar Heels have the last two weeks, and that confidence is something that UNC’s opponents will have to contend with. The Hokies have had each of their games decided by more than 20 points. That leaves them without the crucial fourth quarter plays the Tar Heels have under their belts.

Tech Sideline | Ricky LaBlue: Virginia Tech isn’t feeling very respected by the Tar Heels. The Hokies come to Chapel Hill this weekend ranked in the Top 25 for the first time since 2014, and they think UNC sleeping on them can work to their advantage in trying to pull off the upset.

Carolina Blue | Ross Martin: Nick Weiler’s running tomahawk chop celebration will live on as one of those moments in college football, especially for UNC fans, right up there with Gio’s return touchdown vs. NC State. It’ll be one of those “where were you when...” moments.
