Sports Illustrated | Brendan Marks: Isaiah Hicks is ready to put last season’s ending behind him after he failed to block Kris Jenkins’ shot. In his senior year, Hicks will look to step up and become the player that North Carolina needs him to be.

Carolina Blue | Sean Cavanaugh: After weeks of success against the run, the Tar Heels defense was defeated by Duke’s usage of the running game.

The Daily Tar Heel | Kiley Burns: Just as the Tar Heels need Kenny Williams to step up and replace Theo Pinson, the sophomore is heading into the season with a renewed approach. He admitted that a lot of his shooting problems last year were due to confidence issues.

Raleigh & Company | R.L. Bynum: UNC’s defense was defeated by Duke on Thursday night because they missed a lot of good chances and played with a lack of passion. As their hopes of reaching the ACC championship game end, they are still searching for their first interception.
